About Our Process

Q:

When is your fee due?

A:

Our fee is due with the completed questionnaire.

Q:

Is your fee refundable?

A:

Please take the time to think about this important step in your life, or in your child’s life. Do not hesitate to voice your questions, and consider your answers to the questionnaire carefully. Due to the time-sensitive nature of this research (e.g., application deadlines), our associates will begin working for you upon receipt of your questionnaire. Once work has begun, no refunds will be made for any reason whatsoever.

If we cannot locate funding sources for you, in equal amount to the amount you requested, we will, with your permission, provide you with the information we located, and we will refund you the difference.

Q:

Will Funding for College help with applications to the various funding sources?

A:

No. Applying to the various funding sources we identify is up to you and/or your child.

Q:

Will Funding for College guarantee that funding is awarded?

A:

No. We make no such guarantees.

General

Q:

What is the difference between grant, scholarship, and fellowship?

A:

Grant: Any amount of money given in exchange for a prescribed purpose. All scholarships and fellowships are grants, i.e., financial aid money that does not need to be repaid.

Scholarship: Financial aid given in support of undergraduate education. It can usually be used for tuition, room & board, or other education-related expenses.

Fellowship: Financial aid given in support of graduate education. Fellowships may involve some form of internship. Fellowships are also granted for professional schools, study abroad, or professional development.

Q:

Does Funding For College also research loan information?

A:

No, FFC only specializes in grant information, in other words, funding sources that generally do not need to be repaid.

Q:

Do I have to be a citizen of the United States to be eligible for a college grant?

A:

Not necessarily. A lot of grants require US citizenship or permanent residency status, but that is not always the case.

Q:

Do I have to be a full-time student to be eligible for a college grant

A:

Almost all scholarships require full-time status. However, some grants may target adult students returning to school on a part-time basis.

Q:

Is it possible to receive more than one scholarship at the same time?

A:

Yes, unless otherwise stated, it is possible to stack scholarships from various organizations. Many students are able to support their education only by aggregating multiple funding sources.
